The Philips brand was launched in Eindhoven, 1891, The Netherlands, when the industrial revolution was raging and electricity was beginning to revolutionise the ways of life.
Three years of striving later, the company was on the edge of bankrupcy as the electric lamps were not a real commercial success. It is then that Anton Philips the younger brother decided to develop on a global scale. One of the most innovative companies of the 20 th century was born.
In 1914, Philips built a research laboratory and launched its first TV sets in 1926 and radio sets in 1927. Since then, Philips has been an exceptional pioneer.
Nowadays, Philips is a leader in several branches : light, health, shaving products and clippers, mouth hygiene etc...
