Regularly monitor a wound and its surrounding area for signs of infection such as pain, redness, swelling, odour or suppuration. In case of doubt or infection, contact a doctor or a nursing service.
A wound (or cut) is said to be superficial when it only involves the skin and fat immediately underneath. If an accidental wound is larger than 3 cm, it is advisable to consult a doctor within 6 hours of the accident, who will decide whether the wound should be sutured or treated (glued with specific surgical glue, etc.).
Single-use sterile bandages: do not reuse, do not keep bandages in an open bag, do not reposition a bandage that has already been applied, otherwise there is a risk of infection.
Bandages sterilised with ethylene oxide: do not re-sterilise. Check the integrity of the sterility protector before use. Do not use if packaging is damaged.
Do not use bandages for more than 30 consecutive days without interruption.
Do not use after the expiry date.
Keep packets of Bandages in their original boxes.
How to use it
1. Open a sterile sachet.
2. Clean and disinfect the wound and surrounding area using a compress, an antiseptic solution/soap or other active ingredient, then dry the wound with a compress. Carry out haemostasis (stopping bleeding) if necessary.
3. Depending on the size of the wound and the amount of exudate, cover with 1 or 2 compresses. Fix with a plaster or other means of fixation. Renew the dressing, according to the instructions for use, 1 to 2 times a day depending on the prescription and the condition of the wound or dressing.
Warning: Reuse of a single-use product may lead to a risk of infection.
