SPECIAL USE PRECAUTIONS

For adults only, wintergreen should not be used on people who are allergic to salicylates or on anticoagulant therapy, who have a peptic ulcer, gastritis, hiatus hernia or a history of allergies (eczema, asthma, etc.), G6PD deficiency, who are due to undergo surgery, haemorrhagic syndrome or haemophilia. Irritating (dermocaustic) in its pure state, it is recommended to use it diluted by the skin. The maximum dilution is 20 to 25%. for example, "dilute to 25% (i.e. 2 drops of wintergreen essential oil for 8 drops of softening (calendula macerate) or anti-inflammatory (St John's wort macerate) plant oil" Ma bible des huiles essentielles, Danièle Festy.
