Kelo-cote is a silicone gel for the treatment of scars. Its light texture allows to dry automatically. Kelo-cote dries quickly to form a film; This silicone gel film is flexible, gas permeable and water resistant. Kelo-cote adheres to the stratum corneum (the dead outermost layer of the epidermis), creating a protective barrier against chemical invasion. physical and microbial scar while contributing to the hydration of the skin. This creates an environment that allows the scar to evolve with standardised collagen synthesis and improves its physiological and aesthetic appearance.
When used as directed, Kelo-Cote smooths, relaxes, and softens scars, relieves itching and discomfort associated with scars, and reduces discoloration. Silicone gels have proven efficacy in the treatment of abnormal scars, including hypertrophic and keloids scars. According to the International Clinical Guidelines on Scars Management 2002 "Silicone should be the first-line treatment for the initial management of all scars, and for the prevention of hypertrophic scars and keloid scars."
Kelo-cote can be used on joints, flexion folds, hairy areas and extensive citers such as those resulting from burns or major trauma.
Indication: Kelo-cote is indicated for the treatment of old and new hypertrophic and keloids scars resulting from surgical procedures, trauma, wounds and burns. Kelo-cote can be used on children and people with sensitive skin.

How to use it
Make sure the scar is clean and dry. Spray along the scar slightly back and forth. Kelo-cote should be applied in a homogeneous, very thin layer and evenly over the affected area. Allow to air dry before covering with sunscreen or compression garments. For maximum effect, Kelo-cote must stay in contact with the skin for 24 hours Once dry, Kelo-cote may be covered with compression clothing, sunscreen or cosmetics.
Kelo-cote Spray should dry in 4 or 5 minutes, otherwise you have probably applied a too thick layer. Please gently remove the excess to allow drying.
Kelo-cote should be applied twice a day for 3 months for optimal effect and may be applied under pressure clothing or with sunscreen. The recommended minimum treatment is 2 to 3 months. In the case of larger and older scars the duration of treatment may be prolonged and it is recommended to continue treatment if improvements are still observed after the first 3 months.
The Kelo-side drying process is facilitated by the temperature difference between the gel and the skin. To reduce drying time in hot climates, store Kelo-cote in the refrigerator. In cold weather, use the low speed of a hair dryer to reduce the drying time.
