Açaí is a small, dark violet-coloured berry, fairly harvested from the depths of the Amazon rainforest.
The berries are freeze-dried shortly after harvesting, so that all their nutrients and beneficial properties remain intact. Due to its high concentration of anthocyanins, acai is a powerful antioxidant, protecting DNA from damaging free radicals, boosting the immune system and preventing premature ageing, heart disease and the development of cancer cells. In addition, Acai helps to nourish the Body after any physical exercise; aids the absorption of nutrients and promotes the expulsion of waste products from the body, efficiently. It is a source of essential fatty acids (Omega 3 and 6) - which strengthen the cardiovascular system - vitamins (E and B6, among others) and minerals.
