HILLS Prescription Diet Kidney Care k/d
support kidney function and heart function Dry Cat Food with Chicken 1.5kg Bag
Food for adult cats suffering from chronic renal failure, urate calculations and cystine. Protein, phosphorus and sodium are reduced in quantity and the soluble fiber is increased in order to avoid the formation of crystals of cystine and urate and to relieve the renal function.
Kidney problems (also known as kidney disease or kidney disease) have many causes that cause various symptoms that are annoying to your cat and can be life-threatening. Nephropathy may be sudden (acute) or very progressive (chronic). Prescription Diet Feline k / da has been specially formulated by veterinarians to help control kidney disease in cats.
Sometimes kidney disease develops in the presence of other diseases or because of a change in your cat's health, hereditary or race-related tendencies, or even nutritional factors. Signs of kidney disease usually only appear after the loss of two-thirds of renal function.

Early days but seems really hopeful….So, my 16 year old cat was diagnosed with CKD, hyperthyroidism and low glucose a year back. I have the hyperthyroidism under control with twice daily meds. The low glucose is attributable to diet, he MUST eat regularly. I’ve used Hills dry food of various kinds for decades with my cats and so the kidney one had to be tested. He’s been on it now for just a couple of weeks. He eats it and seems to enjoy it , which is half the battle. Before introducing it in his diet he was on appetite stimulator every 48/72 hours. Now it’s every 72/96 hours, I’m hoping this is due to the Hills ! For now I’m happy this is actively doing some good. I will return with an update. So…. recommended, with reservations for the months ahead.

WonderfoodBack in the 1990s when this food is all there was for CKD cats, my cat was diagnosed aged 8 and we thought it was a death sentence. We put her onto this. In a week she put on a pound in weight. She went on to have another 8 healthy happy years with no other treatment - no fluid therapy, no drugs, just this food and real meat titbits. It was only the last maybe 6 months of her life she started to feel tired and slow down. I am now on my 3rd CKD cat and in each case after 6 months on k/d their renal values actually improved.

Specialist catfoodI was recommended kidney care food by the vet for both my cats who have polycystic kidneys. They were diagnosed 4 years ago and still going strong with this food without needing medication. Can't say if it is solely the cat food but the cats enjoy eating it and it seems to keep their condition manageable.

Amazing[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used to volunteer at an animal sanctuary and this is the only grand of food that we used for the cats in our care that had kidney issues. Even the fussiest of cats would gobble it up! Cannot fault it in anyway
