Coalgan® ADHESIVE is used in Children, adults and pregnant women and is recommended for patients with congenital haemostasis disorders (Rendu-Osler, von Willebrand, haemophilia) or acquired haemostasis disorders (on anti-platelet agents, anti-vitamins K or heparins). Persistent bleeding requires medical advice.
> Rapidly stops bleeding: calcium alginate promotes platelet aggregation and reduces clotting time. > Promotes healing: calcium alginate stimulates the key cells involved in healing, activating defences against micro-organisms and bacteria. This reduces the risk of Dermatology complications. > Soothes the sensation of pain: on contact with the wound, the calcium alginate fibres gel to allow pain-free removal.

Composition: Coalgan® ADHESIVE, sterile, consists of a bio-active compress of calcium alginate fibres* on a hypoallergenic adhesive backing.
*Made from seaweed.
CONTRAINDICATIONS AND SIDE EFFECTS No known contraindications to date. Coalgan® ADHESIVE contains traces of surfactant; its use may cause hypersensitivity reactions in certain sensitised individuals.
INTERACTIONS Coalgan® ADHESIVE must not be used with alkaline solutions, such as sodium hypochlorite solutions, or solutions containing chlorhexidine, benzalkonium chloride or copper salts. If such products are used on the wound, rinse thoroughly with a 0.9% NaCl solution before applying Coalgan® ADHESIVE.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE Single-use device. Do not reuse due to risk of microbial contamination and loss of performance.

How to use it
Clean the wound with water and soap or saline. Apply Coalgan Adhesive directly to the wound using gentle pressure for a few seconds. When removing, do not try to remove any fibres remaining in the wound or in the scab, as they will disappear with the scab.
