Enzymae combines a targeted selection of digestive enzymes with calcium to support efficient digestion:
- Bromelain (from pineapple) and papain (from papaya) – naturally occurring proteolytic enzymes that help break down proteins
- Amylase – breaks down complex carbohydrates into simpler sugars and glycerides. Insufficient amylase activity or excess undigested carbohydrates may contribute to intestinal fermentation, leading to bloating and gas
- Lipase – hydrolyses triglycerides into fatty acids and glycerol. Reduced lipase activity can impair the absorption of essential polyunsaturated fatty acids, which play key roles in cell membrane structure and prostaglandin regulation
- Lactase – digests lactose into glucose and galactose. Lactase deficiency (lactose intolerance) may cause digestive discomfort such as bloating, diarrhoea, and abdominal pain. Lactase levels often decline with age or after disruption of gut flora
