We often hear about free radicals, and for good reason: too many of them are harmful to the body, including the Skin, and accelerate the ageing process. Free radicals are unstable molecules that oxidise and damage cells. Our bodies can neutralise some of these molecules, but when they are overwhelmed - particularly under the influence of factors that create free radicals, such as exposure to the sun, pollution or stress - free radicals cause damage to the epidermis.
