It’s a nice shampoo set and I am really grateful to try it but don’t believe the properties in it work as well as I was hoping for but this could also be down to my hair as well.

I prefer a floral or light scent. Texture is good, foams nicely, cleans well and felt fuller from first use. Good amount in bottle also

The first shampoo, was ok, but the menthol was starting to catch my throat. I soldiered on, and started the second shampoo cycle. Oh my word! It was like washing with Vicks! The menthol smell was so strong, I couldn't breathe properly in the shower. It was catching my throat, making me cough and my eyes started to burn! It might sound dramatic, but the heat of the shower, mixed with the menthol, just created a perfect storm. I might as well have showered in pepper spray! It might be a good product, but only those with no sense of smell will ever find out!

Unfortunately, the serum gave me a sore scalp and I only noticed a slow in the hair loss rather than a thickening improvement. As a shampoo, it leaves the hair clean and not heavy or claggy. The bottle is huge, and will last for considerable time! The product is not SLS free, and my hair prefers no SLS so I won’t be purchasing in future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by essexkate_3746 from Invigorating smell, great in the mornings [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using the Nioxin 3 stage programme for 6 weeks now. The products make my hair feel great after use: really soft and full of body. I have the litre bottles which last ages (I would guess 3 months or more for shoulder length hair). After 6 weeks I still have at least half a bottle of each left so I will keep using them until they run out (posting the review now as it is due). The shampoo and conditioner bottles are very similar, but the shampoo has a black lid. This is nice and easy when I am in the shower with no glasses as I can see the black lid and I think: shampoo for dirty hair (black lid), conditioner for clean hair (white lid). The shampoo is quite runny so be careful you don’t squeeze too much out, the conditioner is thicker. The shampoo is very minty smelling and you need to avoid getting it in your eyes or anywhere sensitive to avoid the tingling (unless you like that sort of thing). The smell is nice and invigorating in the mornings. I found my hair felt really clean, but quite tangled after using the shampoo. Once I used the conditioner as well it was fine though so I definitely recommend against using the shampoo alone. I have heard so many great things about the brand so was really excited to try it. I have been using it around 3 times a week for 6 weeks. Looking at my before and after pictures I can’t really see any more hair growth at the roots. I know my hair grows quite slowly so maybe this will be more obvious over time. Or maybe I have misunderstood and it won’t actually encourage better growth, just make my existing hair look thicker and stronger (which it does). I have rated it based on how it makes my hair look and feel.

I can say that leaves my hair and scalp clean. No residues was left on the hair after rinsing shampoo. Shampoo is blue colour, has light peppermint scent not overpowering. Only down part for my opinion is that after every hair wash left my hair feeling dry. It definitely helps to have thicker and fuller looking hair with more volume, hence why would recommend it.
