Certain fluids in the Body are acidic or alkaline, depending on their role. Digestive juices, for example, are acidic (pH<7), which enables them to break down food. Minerals in citrate form have the advantage of being bioavailable. In particular, Zinc in Citrate form contributes to normal acid-base Metabolism, by playing a part in the body's major buffer system, thus helping to balance the blood pH.
