Focus on the Dr Valnet brand

Dr Jean Valnet is a French man born on 26 July 1920 in Châlons-sur-Marne (now Châlons-en-Champagne). He was a French doctor and wartime physician, who was one of the creators of a certain branch of aromatherapy known as phytotherapy: a particularly French speciality. He is also the founder of the "Dr Valnet" range of aromatherapy products, made up mainly ofessential oils with health benefits. In 1981, he founded the Collège de phyto-aromatherapy.

In addition to his clinical observations, he was also interested in studying the anti-infectious and antibiotic properties of essential oils and their mode of action, based on the bioelectronics of Louis Claude Vincent. In 1971, Dr Maurice Girault coined the term "aromatogramme" to define a specific antibiotic susceptibility test carried out not with the antibiotics normally used, but with essential oils derived from plants. Doctor Jean Valnet was one of the first to bring knowledge of aromatherapy and the aromatogram to the general public, as his first publications appeared in 1964. Today, the brand has outlived Docteur Valnet, andAromatherapy is more trendy than ever, having made a strong comeback in the 2010s.
